Phishing Mails

As already mentioned, criminals often gain access to personal passwords (phishing). Users are asked to re-enter their login data under a pretext or to reset their password after an alleged update. The criminals build up enormous pressure on the user by claiming, for example, that the account has been blocked, that this is the last reminder for a missed fee payment, that a very tempting offer is about to expire or similar.

Sometimes it is very difficult to even detect whether it is a fake e-mail, as already mentioned under fake exchanges and malware. It is recommended not to follow the links in the e-mail, but instead to go directly to the page via bookmarks, search engines or known URLs and log in there. If an action is actually necessary, you will usually be advised of it again there.
