Typosquatting or URL Hijacking

The scammers use confusingly similar URLs from well-known sites. Often, people end up on these pages due to typos, but since they are deceptively real, the plagiarism is not noticed at first.

Unsuspecting users login to the fake account and thus provide the fraudsters with their login data and private keys from the original sites. The fraudsters then transfer the coins.

Links to the fake sites are also distributed across a variety of platforms and chat rooms frequented by cryptocurrency traders.
