Taproot Assets (formerly known as Tarot) is a protocol that allows issuing assets on the Bitcoin blockchain based on Taproot and transferring them either directly on the Bitcoin blockchain or through the Lightning network.

Under the hood, Taproot Assets use sparse Merkle trees and Merkle sum trees.
